Eureka's patented Diamond Inside treatment keeps the 65mm flat burrs sharp for longer, and Eureka rates them to around 1,000kg of coffee. The upper burr is blind, with no screw holes to hold grounds, which lowers retention and widens the grinding surface. An 18g double takes about nine seconds.

Will the Eureka Stark W fit my portafilter?
Almost certainly. Eureka's heavy-duty universal fork is designed for portafilters of every brand and size, and Eureka says it has lab-tested it with bottomless (naked) portafilters too. The fork adjusts for height, and the weighing system is calibrated at the factory to work with any portafilter weight, so there's no setup before your first dose.
Can I use the Stark W for filter coffee?
It isn't the right choice if filter is most of what you brew. Eureka recommends the Stark W for espresso, and its burrs, dial and weighing fork are all built around the portafilter. If you want pour-over, AeroPress or a cafetière as well as espresso, an all-purpose grinder such as the Fellow Opus 2 or Timemore Sculptor 078S will serve you better.
Eureka Mignon Stark W or Mignon XL: which should I choose?
Both use 65mm flat burrs in the compact Mignon body with a 300g hopper. The XL doses by time from its touchscreen, so you weigh on a separate scale if you want precision. The Stark W adds grind by weight to ±0.2g, a blind upper burr for lower retention and a larger touchscreen. Choose the XL to spend less; choose the Stark W if exact doses without a scale matter most.
Can I single-dose with the Stark W?
You can, but it isn't designed around it. The Stark W is hopper-fed: you keep beans in the 300g hopper and grind on demand. Its blind upper burr keeps retention low, which helps when you change coffees now and then, but if you switch beans for every shot, a dedicated single-dose grinder will suit your routine better.
How do I clean the Stark W, and what does the warranty cover?
Lift off the hopper and brush out the grinding chamber and spout regularly; the display tracks burr use and flags when service is due. The scale is factory calibrated, with a quick recalibration in the menu if readings ever drift.
