FELLOW
One grinder, every brew you make
Most homes don't brew one way. The Opus 2 covers a 9-bar espresso shot, a Saturday pour-over and a weekend batch of cold brew on the same set of burrs.
- Grind range: espresso through to cold brew on one 48mm conical burr set
- Grind guidance printed directly on the lid, so you're never guessing where to start
- Stepless adjustment for fine control at any point in the range
- 300W motor built for daily use, not occasional grinding
FELLOW
48mm burrs, and a stepless dial that earns them
The Opus 2 steps up from the original's 40mm burrs to 48mm stainless steel conicals, paired with stepless adjustment.
- 48mm stainless steel conical burrs, up from 40mm on the original Opus
- Stepless dial adjusts in fine fractions, not fixed clicks
- Independent testing measured a 6.3% coefficient of variation at coarse settings, flat-burr territory from a conical grinder
- Numbered markings on the collar make repeat settings easy to find
FELLOW
Your full dose, not yesterday's grounds
Retention was the original Opus's weak point. Fellow redesigned the grind path with an internal impeller and added an anti-static ioniser.
- Internal impeller clears the chute after every grind
- Anti-static ioniser cuts static cling and mess on the counter
- Independent testing measured 0.3 to 0.4g retention loss on an 18g dose
- Effectively zero loss with a light spritz of water on the beans first

Frequently asked questions
Can the Fellow Opus 2 grind for espresso?
Yes. Espresso sits within settings 0 to 2 on the stepless dial, and the included espresso catch cup drops straight into a 54mm or 58mm portafilter. Your exact setting depends on your machine, basket type and bean freshness, so expect a little dialling in. That's normal for any grinder at this level.
What's the difference between the Opus and the Opus 2?
Three things matter. The burrs grew from 40mm to 48mm, adjustment became stepless instead of the original's fiddly dual-ring system, and retention dropped sharply thanks to a redesigned grind path and a stronger anti-static ioniser. It also now stops automatically when the beans run out.
Should I choose the Opus 2 or the Ode Gen 2?
Choose the Opus 2 if you brew espresso at all. Choose the Ode Gen 2 if you only brew filter, AeroPress or French press, since its 64mm flat burrs give more clarity at coarser settings. The Opus 2 is the all-rounder; the Ode is the filter specialist.
How often should I clean the Opus 2?
Brush the burrs and exit chute roughly every 60 grinds to keep the anti-static ioniser working well. Turn the load bin anticlockwise to lift it off, then twist the outer burr handle to remove the burr set. No tools needed, and it takes about two minutes. Hand-clean only.
